43 Statement of Attainment in (NRT) Pest Inspection - Timber Course No: 7218 WSI PLUS fee: $735 Description: This course provides training for those who require the knowledge and skills both to carry out timber pest inspection procedures carefully, to write accurate reports that will withstand legal scrutiny, and to provide advice on control of timber pests or carry out timber pest control. Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate or equivalent. Career Opportunities: Licensed pest controllers who wish to go into Timber pest work. Statement of Attainment in (NRT) Pest Management Studies Course No: 1446 Description: On successful completion of this course, you will have achieved the unit Install Physical Termite Barriers, PRMPM42A. Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate, or equivalent, or relevant workplace experience. Career Opportunities: Pest Control Operator. Certificate III in (NRT) Production Horticulture Course No: 1994 National Code: RTE31603 Description: On completion of this qualification, you will be able to apply for jobs and work with minimum supervision in production horticulture, such as viticulture, cut flowers or fruit and vegetables production. Entry Requirements: NSW School Certificate, or equivalent, and relevant experience, or completion of Certificate II in Production Horticulture or equivalent, or relevant experience. Career Opportunities: Supervised worker in a range of production horticulture industries. Course in (NRT) Smarttrain - Chemical Application Course No: 9016 National Code: 91186NSW WSI PLUS fee: $350 for full course, $295 for reaccreditation, $125 for recognition Description: This course is accredited by the Environment Protection Authority. You will be able to apply pesticides using hand operated and powered equipment with ready to use products and solutions of diluted pesticides. This course is also offered as a reaccreditation and recognition program. Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. However, you must have language, literacy and numeracy skills that enable you to read and understand chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Career Opportunities: Chemical Applicator in agriculture, horticulture or conservation and land management. Course in (NRT) Smarttrain - Chemical Risk Management Course No: 9017 National Code: 9 1187NSW WSI PLUS fee: $530 Description: By completing this course, participants will have presented evidence that they are able to develop risk management procedures for the safe transport, storage and handling, mixing and loading, application and disposal of agricultural chemicals. They will have demonstrated the ability to maintain adequate records and to develop an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to controlling pests, including the selection of appropriate chemicals for a given pest and strategies to prevent the development of resistance to chemicals in pest species. Course in (NRT) Smarttrain - Chemical Safety Course No: 9015 National Code: 91185NSW WSI PLUS fee: $325 Description: On completion of this course learners will be able to work under supervision to apply pesticides using hand - operated equipment with ready-to-use products and solutions of diluted pesticides. Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. You must have the language, literacy and numeracy skills for reading and understanding chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Career Opportunities: Working and handling chemicals within the Agricultural and non-Agricultural areas. Statement of Attainment in (NRT) Urban and Rural Fumigation Course No: 7219 WSI PLUS fee: $705 Description: This course provides vocational education and training for rural and urban pest control operators in the specialised area of Fumigation. It provides learners with the minimum skills and knowledge needed to enable them to clarify the nature of the problem, plan, treat, monitor, ventilate, record and conduct fumigation operations with high regard for health and safety issues. On completion students can apply for their Fumigation Licence from WorkCover. Entry Requirements: There are no formal educational requirements. You must have industry experience or the capacity to gain relevant fumigation experience in a rural or urban setting to meet the WorkCover requirements for a licence.
