TAFE NSW -- Western Sydney Institute -- OTEN Course and Career Guide 2011 Take your time ... or accelerate your learning -- It's your choice! Whether you're starting out or need a career stepping stone, OTEN provides you with the opportunity to accelerate your learning if that's what you need. That's why highly motivated self-starters find OTEN a great place to study. On the other hand, you may need your study to fit around your other life commitments so OTEN gives you the flexibility to study when it suits you. Studying by distance at OTEN means studying at your own pace. It's all about you! OTEN o ers around 220 qualifications and courses, and accepts enrolments from students all over NSW, from other Australian States and overseas. Most courses are delivered right to your door - online, on CD, or via printed learning materials with audio and video components. Some courses also have face-to-face sessions -in the workplace, workshops or practicals. This Course and Career Guide gives you general information about applying and enrolling with OTEN, a brief description of our qualifications and courses, and the support services we o er to help you succeed in your studies. If you are not sure which course will meet your goals, speak to our Counselling and Careers Service. We have also developed a Career Pathways brochure which provides general advice about career planning -- whether you have just finished school, want to upgrade your skills or make a complete career shift. There's also a list of helpful websites and vocational pathways, which show you how to progress towards the career you want. You can find the Career Pathways brochure on our website. It is important to be sure that the course is what you need to meet your personal and vocational goals. Some courses have specific entry requirements.
